The Mysterious Monster
Have you heard about the BIG, HORRIBLE, SUPER-DUPER, SCARY MONSTER? It's the talk of the spooky woods, and everyone’s on edge!
Join Granola Squatch, the groovy hippie bigfoot, and his best friend, Stink Pea the Skunk, as they embark on a thrilling adventure to the annual Halloween party. But when they meet forest friends who claim to have seen this terrifying creature lurking in the shadows, their fun night takes a spooky turn.

This is a really fun story with a really cute twist. The author makes the story engaging through the use of playful, repetitive language and onomatopoeia. Young readers will also be drawn in by the fun illustrations and overall silly concept (a peaceful Sasquatch, his skunk friend, and a bunch of other animals dressed up to go to a Halloween party). This is a great book for younger children.

Stink Pea whimpered, “I’m scared, Granola Squatch!
What if we meet this terrifying BIG, HORRIBLE, SUPER-DUPER, SCARY MONSTER along the way?”
“Don’t worry, Stink Pea, I’m sure it’s only a rumor,”
Granola Squatch reassured her.

The two friends came upon Spike, the porcupine, who was nervously adjusting his cowboy hat. “Did you see the BIG, HORRIBLE, SUPER-DUPER, SCARY MONSTER exclaimed Spike. “It was covered in bright BLUE fur, with giant horns sticking out of the top of its head!”
Granola Squatch and Stink Pea listened to Spike’s news in amazement. But they still figured it was just a rumor. Their excitement about the party outweighed their fears. However, they sneaked a quick peek behind them before moving on towards the party.
