The vocabulary is enriching and there is a very nice flow to the story.

One snowy CHRISTMAS EVE, Granola Squatch
was getting ready for the annual tree-decorating party. Every year, it was a tradition for each woodland animal to make a decoration for the tree. Granola Squatch made strands of garland out of popcorn.

Finally, it was time for him to pack up his homemade decorations and head out to join his woodland friends in their treasured tradition.

Bernard the bear was awoken from his long winter’s sleep by the sound of jingle bells outside his den, followed by a TROMP TROMP TROMP sound. Bernard stepped outside his den and saw a present with a tag that said ‘OPEN NOW.’ Inside was the most MAGICAL, SHIMMERING, SPECTACULAR,
